Cain's quilt which I quilted on Shirley Anne, my "new Featherweight."  We delivered it today.

Great Aunt Carol holding Cain for the first time.

A field of sunflowers on Highway 82 between Paris and Sherman.

We saw them on the way to Sherman.

Sam was nice and stopped on the way home.
Okay folks. I've seen others complain about photos turning the wrong way.  This is the first time it has happened to me.  I had them in the correct orientation on my computer.  Now you know that I never turn my camera the same way twice., ;-)

New Cutting Table

Isn't it gorgeous?!

I saw a similar cutting table online 3 or so years ago.  But it was larger than I needed and would not fit my space.

Since Sam was building a woodworking shop at the time...I printed the photo for him.

He drafted the pattern, bought some red oak lumber and red oak faced plywood (said he wouldn't work with the plywood again!)

And started it.

It took awhile.

I LOVE IT!

Quilting on My Featherweight

I had a hard time deciding what to buy me from my mother.  Thought about jewelry - a ring specifically because that's what my mother liked the best.  But she gave me her wedding set a few years back and there's no way I can top that beauty.  All of a sudden it hit like a bolt of lightning...A SINGER FEATHERWEIGHT!!!  I've never wanted one before.  Didn't need yet another machine and passed up on a rather inexpensive machine a couple of years back when I called Carol's attention to a pair of them at an antique/junk store.  She picked the best and was so surprised that I didn't get it.

This is the perfect gift for me.  Mama made just about all of my clothes while I was growing up.  She made hers too. When I married in 1971, she gave me her old 1954 electric Singer machine since she was sewing on a Singer Touch 'n' Sew.  I made most of my own clothing, including jeans that FIT.  I learned the love of sewing from her.  Drum roll.......
....
....
Carol and I had a naming ceremony and the photos are still stuck on my phone, I haven't figured out how to get them to my computer yet.  eyeroll....

Meet Shirley Anne...

Stitches are just gorgeous!

Splish Splash!

They didn't seem the least bit concerned that we big people are going to have to wait another several weeks to take a dunk in the swimming pool!

Isabel enjoyed her exposure to country music so much that she started dancing in the pool!
A little Boot Scooting Boogie anyone?

Colt dipped as much water out of the pool as he could.  LOL

Then he tried out his Texas Two Step on the back porch.

47

Forty-seven...that's the number of junk e-mails I've received in the last 24 hour period.  FORTY-SEVEN!!!  Sheesh.  I think that's the most ever received.  Thinking about changing my e-mail address, but really REALLY hate to.

I set filters on my e-mail account which sends the majority of them to Trash.  I still look because on occasion, a real e-mail gets nailed.

E-mails hitting the Trash folder?  Vulgar.  Pure absolute filth for the most part.  Why-oh-why do I want my "member" to grow so that I can please my "woman in bed"???!!!

A few are in the ED category - eyeroll - like I have a problem with THAT!

Disgusting...

Boots and Tractors

Colt wearing Uncle Jonathan's 25 year old Kenny Roger's boots by Justin.  I have been corrected - I originally typed "35."  However dear son has informed me that I must be getting senile.  He's only 28 years old.  He's such a smartie! ;-)
They are a bit big, but he will definitely grow into them.

A Poem

Brother Joey found a poem Mama had copied down.  He handed it to me.

Sea Fever
by John Masefield

I must go down to the sea again, to the lonely sea and the sky,
And all I ask is a tall ship and a star to steer her by;
And the wheel's kick and the wind's song and the white sails shaking,
And a gray mist on the sea's face, and a gray dawn breaking.

I must go down to the seas again, for the call of the running tide
Is a wild call and a clear call that may not be denied;
And all I ask is a windy day with the white clouds flying,
And the flung spray and the blown spume and the sea gulls crying.

I must go down to the sea again, to the vagrant gypsy life,
To the gull's way and the whale's way where the wind's like a whetted knife;
And all I ask is a merry yarn from a laughing fellow rover,
And a quiet sleep and a sweet dream when the long trick's over.

Another Margarita!

THIS is the photo I've been waiting on.  I now have everyone's camera card downloaded to my computer.  I'll make a CD for each person.

Wasting Away in Margaritaville :D

Rough seas the first couple of days...
Jimmy Buffets Cozumel Margaritaville - weeellllll.  We did have a coupon for a free margarita!

Just like Edith Ann - and that's the truth!  pffffttttt
Just waiting on one more camera to download her photos - she has a photo with all 5 of us in the chair. :D

I tried my hand and towel folding!  With the help of a book Nancy bought.  We left this for the room stewards to enjoy.
