More Goodies!

A quilting friend told me about a quilter she knew who was going to radically downsize her quilting supplies. Sam and I got up this morning and headed that way. It was mind boggling! I need to go back again. I bought the buttons for crazy quilting. $2.50 for all of these. A few close up... Then, of course, a bit of fabric. Those two pieces in the top left...I am so surprised at myself for purchasing those. Each piece is 3-4 yards. I picked it up...put it down. And as you can see, finally came home with it. There's also some Orientals, a few Christmas pieces, a couple of batiks, the handkerchief piece and a couple of panels. Here's the McKenna Ryan patterns I won on I Have a Notion blog. See the autograph at the top left?! ;o) And, I won ANOTHER giveaway! I am amazed. I need to run out and purchase a lottery ticket! LOL Karen at Quilts, Etc. hosted a giveaway. I won! Be back later. The lottery ticket is calling my name...

Home From Cozumel Cruise

Wouldn't you know it?! The very first photo I took was the carpet in one of the
'clubs'. LOL Wouldn't this make a neat quilt?!! Here are the other three as we leave Galveston. Our photo with the night's entertainment, Diane Ford who made several appearances on Tool Time. We went to one of the early shows...didn't care to go to the 10 or 11 p.m. 'adult' content shows. Dress up night. We sailed on the Carnival Ecstasy. This was a rather laid-back cruise. Only one tux was seen. No formals. So we fit right in with our sparkly tops. The two 'real' sisters, Earlene and Beckle. Me, the shoulda been sister, and Nancy, who was actually 'adopted' by Mrs. Wilson. Yeah. I know. The backwoods sisters go to town. We took photos of our food. Duck breast appetizer. goodMahi mahi. dry Standing on the dock at Cozumel waiting while the port authorities there showed that they could hold us up even longer. Our excursion. A 100 foot deep submarine ride. No anxiety here! We actually went to 121 feet...but that photo is on Earlene's camera. Shrimp cocktail appetizer. good Flat iron steak cooked medium. very good Earlene had one a night or two earlier cooked medium well and Beckle's was well done. They said that theirs was tough. Mine wasn't. Bitter and white. OH MY GOODNESS! I thought from the description that this was bittersweet chocolate pudding swirled with white chocolate pudding. It was more of a bread pudding. The waiter poured the sauce on top. After a bite or two, I spooned the shaved chocolates into the dish and they melted in. I repeat, OH MY! Even though I was also taking photos, I think Earlene enjoyed the photo opportunities as well as the meal! LOL Most of the cakes were dry. This was the first, a sugar-free coconut cake, that wasn't too dry to eat. Uh-huh! Caught 'em in the casino!! Actually, we were in the casino the first night. Earlene, Beckle, and Nancy lost a few dollars...and I do mean a few. I don't enjoy the gambling scene at all. Only did the one-armed bandits once. Sigh...what a bore. Lost my $20 then and never went back. The truth of this photo...we were sitting around waiting for the next go-to item on our itinerary when I remembered a sign in the casino...a deck of cards for $1. I got mine. Then the three others lined up too. We sat at a table and played cards...

When we got on the ship Thursday, Beckle said, "Wouldn't it be funny if we saw someone we know?" We met people from as nearby as Mt. Pleasant....20-25 miles from home. Sunday evening,..Beckle saw someone she knew! Monday morning sunrise in Galveston harbor. More photos may follow after I get Earlene's...
