Sunrise

Winter is coming on and the days are shorter. Where just a few weeks ago, it was daylight when I woke, now it is dark. It is still dark after I am dressed and ready for work. I walked into the kitchen this morning for breakfast. As I passed through, I saw the red glow of the rising sun through the trees on the east side of the house.

I grabbed my camera and headed outside. As I walked the fence row looking for a clear shot, I snapped a few pictures.

Getting better!

FINALLY! Isn't it beautiful?

I asked Sam if he could cut the trees to the east of the house on the neighbor's property so that I could see the sun rise. :D he said no. :(

Sunrise - Sunset - And all Good Things in Between

I am measuring my food and have been surprised at my interpretation of a serving is and what the package states.

Did you know that a serving of almonds is 24 almonds and has 160 calories? Sigh.
This is what one (LOL) serving - 1/2 cup - of Blue Bell Honey Caramel Greek Yogurt looks like. It has 190 calories.

ONE-HALF CUP! I could eat a whole pint in one sitting. I HAVE eaten a whole pint in one sitting!

One morning while still in bed, I looked out my north-facing window watching the clouds. Then I saw this. I grabbed my camera and ran down the hall to see the brilliant sunrise. There wasn't one! The best show was to the north.

A few evenings later, this is what I saw to the north...
 to the west...

to the north...

back to the west...

Then there are the grand things in between...

Good Morning!

Dense fog on the way to work Friday morning. But this morning we had a beautiful sunrise. It covered the whole sky! North. South. East. West.

I finally finished a quilt for my grand nephew Ty. He was born preemie in July. I told his mother it was too hot to think about a quilt. After Christmas I decided I better get it started and DONE before this winter was completely over!
John Deere fabric for a country boy! With his big sister, Bri.
Sam cooked a slow cooker full of beef stew this week. I combined the dry ingredients for cornbread and left a how-to finish it. I brought a Tahoe full of co-workers to the house for lunch. Everything was DELICIOUS! They liked the stew...but loved the homemade cornbread!
