A little quiet time with Granny before leaving for the party.
What's so funny, PaPaw ? Let's get this shindig on the road! Granny's sweet Isabel was there too.
Ah, yes! The inevitable meltdown... (Colt bumped his head on the table.) But a little sweet tempered things a bit.
Don't you just love the blue eyes on these two babies?! If Isabel could just get her hands on one of those pretty fish...
I thoroughly enjoyed my weekend! I would've liked more time with isabel...I will have that chance on Thanksgiving...we are going to her house.
The night before the party, Colt's parents had friends over. We ate good and visited. The guys went out to the game room to watch boxing. Colt got a bit out of sorts so his mommy put him to bed. It didn't stick and after about 15 or so minutes she got him out. I borrowed him, grabbed his favorite blanket and we walked out to sit on the deck. We listened to the neighbors' dogs. Woof-woof and yap-yap. Watched the stars...I sang...he fell asleep in my arms.
I sang to my son, Jonathan aka Ducky here, when he was little. As he got older, he and I would just about drive his daddy crazy on road trips singing. Started with the kiddie songs - Itsy Bitsy Spider...Five Little Monkeys...to Davy Crockett...to Chantilly Lace...Rain, Rain Go Away...In the Jungle. The 'don't tee-tee in your pants song' was Sing! Sing a song! Sing out loud! Sing out long!...He would sing at the top of his voice until I could get pulled over. LOL
One day, when he was about 8 or 9...maybe 10...he turned to me with an astonished look on his face. "You can't sing!" Sigh...
So sing while they are small!

Happy Birthday little Colt, it's been fun watching you grow :)
Can those two little ones get any cuter?! How sweet! Love the story about the songs. You know those are the memories that Jonathan loves, even though he doesn't want you to sing anymore. :)
