I've developed a real need to watch sunsets. Step outside and catch yours!
One even made it on our Tyler weather broadcast! :D
My drive to work and home again - it never gets old!
These are not cute! These are not indigenous wildlife. These are feral pigs and cause a tremendous amount of destruction.
When you live in the country, you can sometimes have unexpected visitors.
I'm still cooking!
Louisiana inspired barbeque shrimp...
Whole wheat skillet bread....
With cheesy grits and a slice of Mrs. Edward's Key Lime Pie.
Lava cake for Mother's Day.
I've started making my own pizza! I don't think I've been to a pizza place in six or so months. WHY?
I even made a white garlic sauce for a chicken pizza. OH MY GREATNESS!!!
Those are apple cider baked donuts.
Fried green tomatoes with Herdez guacamole sauce and sour cream goes with corn on the cob and steak...
...or hamburger steak smothered in onions and mushrooms with cottage cheese.
Sam grilled about 5 pounds of Eddy's jalapeno sausage.
I'm still cooking in cast iron!
The kids are growing!
We were called to come babysit the grandsons. Right before we left headed that way I was told that there would be FOUR! Um...well... So here is the photo of the sweethearts all asleep that I sent to the two sets of parents who went out to adult dinner. (Look at Red Shirt's face!)
Fooled ya!
Jonathan is no longer throwing money away on rent! He now owns a money pit! (He and the bank own a money pit.)
(OH! I've come back to edit with another Jonathan update! Last month just before signing the papers on his house he received notification from work that he is no longer a jailer and reserve deputy. Nope. People from the Sheriff's office were calling me right and left to try to get hold of him on his off-time and coming by the office with congratulations. EVERYONE knew but him. A deputy position opened and he is now a full time sheriff's deputy!!! Good news for him EVERYWHERE!)
Original hardwood floors. Can you imagine the person who was a bit careless being upset and thankful? Upset that the floor was ruined, but thankful that the house didn't catch on fire.
This growth chart is inside the hall closet. Jonathan said the he doubted he'd ever paint over it.
He found out that a painter he is not! I helped finish the gray room - his office. He said that he wasn't going to paint his bedroom. I let myself in, did all the taping, trimming, edging, and left him with this happy face. I told him that he'd bought the paint and if he didn't get it done now, he wouldn't.
The office floor with a coat of wax on it. I'm telling ya, these floors are gorgeous!
This chair and its mate were in the storage building along with some yard tools - SCORE! This one was just a regular chair until it saved my life. I'm certain a good son put the concrete pavers on top of the concrete porch to help out his older, prone to falling mother. However, this mother stepped off that bit of extra height porch and stagger stepped sideways until I landed on the chair.
And three of us went to see the Bellamy Brothers!
Sam and I went to the Tartan Festival in Minden Louisiana. It was a cold wet day. But "I" thought it was still FUN!!
I went to a dreaded business related meeting...
...in GALVESTON!
The first evening I drove to Surfside to Red Snapper Inn for some delicious scallops on rice and probably something healthy on the side. Then I finished it off with something not so healthy but absolutely delicious.
I also went to a quilting retreat in Alabama.

Holy cow!!! She's still alive and well! Good to hear from you girlfriend. Why do you have to show food like that? Glad my DH doesn't see it or he'd wonder why I don't do the same.
FFG, I think I've got your address. I'll mail him the photos and recipes. Hahahaha
